SWC members visited Taiwan Photon Source (TPS)
On Nov. 3-7, 2015, leaded by Prof. Tsun-Kong Sham, the director of SWC, 5 SWC members joined the visit to Taiwan Synchrotron Radiation Center/ Taiwan Photon Source (TPS). During the visit, a bilateral mini-workshop took place with a great success.
Prof. Shangzhi Guo, the director of TPS, delivered a warm welcome speech to all the delegates and expressed the highly interest on the future cooperation. More than 30 delegates attended the meeting. Other delegates include 10 beamline scientists of TPS, 3 professors from Tamkang University and National University of Kaohsiung.
The workshop is made up of 16 oral presentations in total, referring from the latest development of synchrotron radiation research to the status of beamline station in TPS. All the delegates exchanged their ideas and discussed the practical problems in the experiment.
During the workshop, all the members also had a lab tour, which was introduced by Prof. Di-jing Huang, the vice-director of TPS, and other beamline scientists.
After the workshop, a group discussion on more details for the future collaboration was held. Through which, SWC, TPS and Tamkang University had reached a consensus to build a long-term friendly relations of cooperation, more activities including students and faculty exchanges, bilateral workshops, and joint research project applications were on the way.
