专家简介：

Paul Cobley 教授，英国著名学者、国际符号学会会长，现任教于英国伦敦米德赛斯大学媒体与传播学院，研究方向是语言与媒体传播，曾在英国萨塞克斯大学和伦敦帝国理工学院学习，于1992年得到博士学位。曾在包括美国波士顿大学，瑞士提切洛大学、英国伦敦都市大学在内的9个大学任教。著有The American Thriller ((((2000) 、Narrative ((((2001)、Contemporary Semiotics ((((2009)等，主编出版The Communication Theory Reader、The Routledge Companion to Semiotics and Linguistics、Communication Theories （4 vols.）、The Media: An Introduction ((((2nd ed.)、Realism for the 21st Century: A John Deely Reader、The Routledge Companion to Semiotics以及Semiotics, Communication and Cognition丛书等。现任Subject Matters and Social Semiotics和 Cybernetics and Human Knowing两家学术期刊的主编/副主编，研究成果屡获大奖,曾经先后60次受邀参加世界各国举办的国际传媒学术研讨会并做主旨发言。现任我校Language and Semiotic Studies期刊顾问。
