Associate/Full Professor of Voice position for Soochow University School of Music

       SOOCHOW UNIVERSITY (CHINA) ― Associate/Full Professor of Voice to serve as the Coordinator of the Graduate Voice Performance Program in the School of Music. This full-time, tenure-track position is open to any voice type in the classical Western tradition. Start date:  January 15, 2016 or negotiable.
 
       The successful candidate will develop and coordinate the graduate voice program, which will be inaugurated in Fall 2016.  Qualifications include: 1) earned doctorate in vocal performance or equivalent professional experience;  2) substantial knowledge of Western vocal literature, not limited to opera and art song;  3) successful leadership experience; and 4) demonstration of successful teaching in applied voice, lyric diction (Italian, German, French, and English), vocal literature, and vocal pedagogy. Effective communication skills in English is required.
 
       Other responsibilities include:  collaborating with faculty in performances; teaching courses as needed in the program and/or SUSM, recruiting students, and serving on faculty committees.  Proficiency in Chinese language is not required.  Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
