PasteurienCollege,established in September 2019, was co-founded by Soochow University and Institute Pasteur of Shanghai,Chinese Academy of Sciences.The college currently enrolls 13 teaching and administrative staff members, among which there are 1 chair professor and 5 part-time professors who come from Institute Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Thecollege focuses on personnel training ability and technological innovation in the field of microbial infection and pathogen infection.It is committed to elaborate the Pasteur Spirits in research, education andprofessionaltraining, to supporttopublic health.The mission of thecollege is to attract and train a large number of professional and international high-level talents, to sustainablytrain innovative talents in life sciences and public health, and to advance frontier basic research with characteristics and application prospects.
Pasteurien collegesetsup the “Pasteurien Elite Class” for undergraduates totraininter-disciplinary innovative talents in biology, medicine and bioinformation with international vision and innovative spirit in two specialties of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Ithas adopted a new pattern of postgraduate training to educate postgraduates with international competitiveness, which is “program-oriented joint training with tutor guidance groups”. In 2020, 30 undergraduates and 10 postgraduates were recruited for the first enrollment.
Pasteurien college will integrate the advantageous resources of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Pasteur international network and Soochow University, explore a new paradigm of science-education integration, develop frontier interdisciplinary subjects, and create a new model of collaborativeinnovation and research college of “four inoneofmedicine, teaching, research and enterprise”.
