报告人简介:
Fei Liu is a full professor in Nantong University and has been working on the involvement of dysregulated tau metabolism in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease and related disorders. She received her doctoral degree in Molecular biology and Biochemistry from Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University, Shanghai, China in 1999 and completed postdoctoral fellowships at New York State Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities, Staten Island, New York, USA, in 2003. She discovered a global decrease in protein O-GlcNAcylation in Alzheimer disease brain, which links the impairment of brain glucose metabolism to hyperphosphorylation of tau, showed that protein phosphatase-2A (PP2A) accounts for 70% of total phosphatase activity in human brain, found that Dyrk1A regulates alternative splicing of tau exon 10, and demonstrated that overexpression of Dyrk1A in Down syndrome due to extra gene dosage leads to increased tau exon 10 inclusion and consequently dysregulation of tau isoforms expression during development and neurofibrillary degeneration. Dr. Liu has been funded by the Alzheimer’s association and national nature scientific foundation of China and has around 100 peer-reviewed publications.
