报告人简介：
Dr. Han Zhang received his B.S. degree from School of Life Sciences, Xiamen University in 2004. He conducted his graduated research in Dr. Yeguang Chen’s Lab in Tsinghua University, where he managed to identify several proteins which interact with Alzheimer’s beta-amyloid precursor protein (APP) and may involved in neurodegeneration. From 2006, Dr. Zhang worked as a visiting scholar in Del E. Webb Neuroscience, Aging and Stem Cell Research Center of Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, studying the molecular events that underlie the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). In 2010, he earned his Ph.D. in cell biology from Xiamen University and continued his postdoctoral investigation in Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute. Dr. Zhang had indentified and characterized a mitochondrial inner membrane transporter, appoptosin. Appotosin plays an important role in AD and other neurodegenerative diseases by mediating a-beta/Glutamate toxicities induced neuronal cell death.
