On Jan. 26, 2016, Elsevier released the “2015 List of the Most Cited Chinese Researchers”, which includes Prof. Shuit-Tong Lee and Prof. Zhuang Liu from FUNSOM/CNST. Prof. Lee and Prof. Liu were both the Most Cited Researchers in “Materials Science and Engineering (MSE)”. There were 300 researchers from 174 universities and research institutes, including 30 Chinese researchers. Prof. Liu was also the Most Cited Researcher in “Chemical Engineering”. There were 300 researchers from over 200 universities and research institutes, including 32 Chinese researchers.
Research data of Elsevier 2015 List of the Most Cited Chinese Researchers come from the Scopus database under Elsevier. The Database is the globally largest one of academic paper index and abstract according to comments of relevant researchers, and provides massive data of literature, authors and research institutions related to scientific research activities, making it possible to carry out scientific analysis and evaluation of Chinese scholars’ influence in the world.
The criterion for “Elsevier Most Cited Chinese Researchers” is: the paper published by a researcher as the first author and corresponding author is at the top level by number of citation among all Chinese (Mainland) researchers. It carries out systematic analysis of Chinese scholars’ influence around the world based on the objectively cited data and has presented 1,744 Chinese scholars most influential in the world to the academic circle and the public.
