Location: Conference Room B, BLDG 909-1F
Abstract
Photoemission spectroscopy is one of the most powerful tools to characterize thin film, powder materials. Two important information can be obtained from this technique analysis: the oxidation states and the determination of the atomic environments (surface/interface). In this talk, I will present few examples to show our latest progress in battery materials and catalysis materials.
Biography
Dr. Xiaoyu Cui is a staff scientist in Canadian Light Source Inc. and adjunct Professor at the Department of Physics Engineering Science, University of Saskatchewan (Canada). He received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree in Physics from Lanzhou University (China) in 2000 and 2003, and Ph.D. degree in Solid State Physics from University of Hiroshima (Japan) in 2006. After his postdoctoral fellow working at Wuerzburg University and Duisburg-Essen University (Germany) and Swiss Light Source, PSIÐ (Switzerland), he started his independent research career as staff scientist at Canadian Light Source Inc. since 2011. Since 2013, he was accepted to Adjunct Professor in Department of Physics Engineering Science, University of Saskatchewan.
