On the afternoon of September 24th, Soochow University opening ceremony 2023 was held on Dushu Lake Campus. 13544 new students attended the event.

President Zhang Xiaohong, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering Wu Xinhua, Foreign Academician of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Nagaumi Hiromi, Vice President of Suzhou High School of Jiangsu Province Cao Wenjie, and Vice President of Wuxi Furen High School Wu Baoping attended the event.

At the ceremony, Zhang Bingkun, a representative of undergraduate freshmen majoring in clinical medicine from Suzhou Medical College, and Yin Jia, a representative of graduate freshmen majoring in pedagogy from School of Education, respectively spoke.

Wang Xinran, majoring in finance from C.W.Chu College in 2020, and Ge Can, a doctoral student from College of Textile and Clothing Engineering in 2022, respectively spoke on behalf of senior students.

Dean of School of Electronic Information Engineering Shen Gangxiang shared the keyword of “Jiangnan Culture” with students on behalf of teachers.

In his Speech, President Zhang Xiaohong expressed the hope that new students would cultivate their self-awareness and ability in everything, cultivate their perseverance and aspiration in every step, and write brilliant youth answers.

At the end of the opening ceremony, all the new students stood up, raised their right fists, and read out the admission oath of Soochow University in unison. Accompanied by the powerful oath, a group of young students injected new vitality into the university. They would go hand in hand with Soochow University until forever.
