Education & Research experience: In 2006, Xu graduated from chemistry (normal) of Soochow University and engaged in surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) research based on alumina template substrate. He began to study for a master's degree in Soochow University in September 2006 and a doctor's degree in advance in 2008. He focused on the surface properties and SERS research of noble metal nanostructures and electrodes. From September 2009 to June 2011, he carried out exchange study in the state Key Laboratory of solid surface physical chemistry (Xiamen University). In December 2011, he obtained the doctor's degree in physical chemistry from Soochow University and stayed in the university to teach basic courses such as physical chemistry and physical chemistry experiments. He participated in compiling the textbook of Physical Chemistry (Nanjing University Press). In 2012 and 2021, he guided students to carry out college students' innovation and entrepreneurship projects. In 2012, he won the excellent paper award at the 17th National Academic Conference on molecular spectroscopy.
He was promoted to associate professor in July 2018. At present, more than 50 research papers have been published in professional journals such as electrochemistry communications, chemical communications, Langmuir, RSC advances, Journal of colloid and Interface Science, Journal of Raman spectroscopy, etc. Presided over 1 National Natural Science Youth Fund, 1 Jiangsu Natural Science Youth Project, 2 Jiangsu University Natural Science Funds, 1 open project of State Key Laboratory of solid surface physical chemistry and 1 Jiangsu postdoctoral fund. Participated in a number of research projects such as the development of national key scientific instruments and equipment, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation. He has made academic reports and wall newspaper presentations at international Raman spectroscopy conference, National Academic Conference on molecular spectroscopy, National Academic Conference on light scattering, national electrochemical conference and other domestic and foreign conferences and forums for many times. Research interests: 1. Spectroelectrochemistry, based on the principle of surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy, substrate preparation and detection application. 2. Surface plasmon catalysis based on surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy 3. Study on electrochemical Raman spectroscopy of single crystal surface 4. Preparation, regulation and catalytic reaction of noble metal nano materials
